EDP puts the fizz into the Builders’ Merchant Awards
2011
25th November 2011
The EDP Group, leading suppliers of software solutions to the
builders’ merchant industry, was proud to be a sponsor at the recent
Builders Merchant Awards for Excellence 2011, held at the Lancaster
London Hotel.
To ensure that the celebration party got started with a swing,
EDP sponsored the Champagne Reception at the Awards Ceremony.
EDP Group Sales Director, Peter Davey, commented:
“With over 45 years’ experience in delivering specialised computer
solutions to merchants, we have had a long association with the
industry and no one can come close to offering the depth of service
available from EDP.
And with our next generation solution QUANTUM VS due out
in 2012, EDP was very pleased to lend its support to the Builders
Merchant Awards for Excellence in London.

during the 1980’s and EDP software has since supported many of the
largest independents in the UK and Ireland. Our years of experience,
allied to our own dedicated data centre, enables us to identify
and develop the most functional and cost-effective solutions to
support builders’ merchants.”
At the event, there were several EDP Group customers that were
winners on the day, including:
LBS Builders’ Merchants, for: Trainee of the Year (Andy Nicholas),

Merchant of the Year (6+ branches).

Our congratulations go to all of those who won and we look forward
to continuing to support builders’ merchants in 2012 and beyond.

A Quantum leap for Aldridge Security
28th October 2011
Aldridge Security, the largest security wholesaler in the UK and
Ireland recently went live with their implementation of EDP's Quantum
VS software solution.
Aldridge has long sought to innovate, using new technology to improve
its products and services and to remain ahead of its competition.
As a long-term customer of EDP - their specialist MERCHANT software
application was first implemented in 1989 - Aldridge reviewed several
specialist products and really liked what they saw with Quantum
VS.
Pat Cook, Managing Director, stated "We reviewed several specialist
products and really liked what we saw with Quantum VS. Our detailed
evaluation process ended up short-listing EDP's Quantum VS and Microsoft's
"Dynamics NAV" package, each of which offered us certain unique
advantages. As you might expect, the Microsoft option offered a
vast choice of software modules and consulting partners, whereas
Quantum VS was more focused on our specific needs. A major factor
in our final decision to implement Quantum VS was our long standing
partnership with EDP and their ability to deliver on their commitments
to our business."
Pat continues "the decision to implement Quantum VS has proven
to be an excellent one. The project was delivered on time and to
budget, which I believe is a fantastic achievement. The new software
is ideally suited to our business and the people at EDP really understand
what we need."
